Helen Wickman is a Swedish artist now living in Southern California.
After working at the United Nations and travelling extensively in her youth, Helen began her career as an artist in Sweden over twenty years ago, painting murals, portraits and textiles as well as sculpting in clay.
Helen loves to tell stories of living in the Swedish forest with her husband, an established Swedish painter, and children. She speaks fondly of days spent painting huge murals in the barn and outbuildings on the family farm, decorating the gardens with her own sculptures. By the end of a decade this family farm was an artist’s fantasy. Her life and travels have influenced her artwork profoundly.
Her style is inspired by classicism and characterized by an attention to detail capturing the essence of any design – inspired by her truly vast memory of experience and locales.
